Department of English Language and Literature at The University of Lahore organizes its first two-day International conference on April 20th and 21st at its main campus on Defence Road, Lahore. The Dead Arts Society, in collaboration with Department of English Language and Literature, staged its first annual theatrical presentation on February 8th, 9th & 10th, 2019. This was Shakespeare's classic 'Hamlet' with its modern translation into English. Dr. Sikander Ali chaired a session in 3rd Kashmir International Conference on Linguistics held at Muzaffarabad from 16-17 April, 2018. He also presented his paper entitled “Translation is an impossibly possible task: An oxymoron".

Bilal Tanweer, the author of "The Scatter Here is Too Great", visited the Pakistani Literature in English class of Dr. Saeed Ur Rehman on Saturday. The worthy guest discussed the politics of choosing to write a novel in English from Pakistan, and how he developed an urban/metropolitan sensibility. His talk was followed by a question and answer session. The students enjoyed the chance to interact with the writer. We look forward to having similar sessions at DELL, Dr. Rehman!
