The degree program focuses on an all-inclusive coverage and analysis of British, American, Continental and Postcolonial literatures in English. It focuses on contemporary trends in modern critical and literary theories. All these areas of specialization are covered through intensive research, its application, and interlocution, which stimulate intellectual inquiry. The program comprises taught courses of 24 credit hours. Upon the completion of courses, only students obtaining a GPA of 2.75 or above may write a research dissertation (6 credit hours). Those not meeting the criterion of 2.75 GPA may improve by repeating the course(s) with the lowest score as per the rules of HEC. 



Career Opportunities

As per HEC’s regulations, M.Phil. is now a basic requirement for lecturership at universities in Pakistan. It is a gateway to research enabling students to pursue a Ph.D. in their selected areas of interest. M.Phil. graduates are also taken up by research firms for assistance in research projects.
